2. Go for a Daily Walk
One of the most accessible, simple, and effective forms of physical exercise is walking. Frank De-Levi explains that no matter the limitations placed by lockdown, walking is a great way to improve or maintain your overall health. He explains that just 30 minutes a day can increase your cardiovascular fitness, strengthen bones, reduce excess body fat, and boost muscle power and endurance. Frank De-Levi explains that whether it is around your home or in your neighborhood, walking is a great consistent way to stay active. Adjusting your pace and distance according to your fitness level, Frank De-Levi suggests listening to an audio book, choosing a scenic trail, or walking with a loved one to make walking more enjoyable.
3. Join an Online Fitness Community
If you need a little bit of motivation to stay active, Frank De-Levi suggests joining an online membership or fitness group. Thousands of fitness studios have shifted their classes online, some free and some paid. Frank De-Levi explains that this structure can be beneficial if you are having difficult sticking to a regular exercise regimen. Many studios are currently offering three or four month deals to help you get started.
4. Stick to an Exercise Schedule
Lastly, no matter what activity you choose, Frank De-Levi suggests doing something every single day. Even if you are just doing five minutes of stretching or a ten-minute walk, consistent effort will not only yield better results (for your physical and mental health), but makes it easier to stick with this new habit.
